Mark Your Calendars: Xtreme Critique Weekend Is Coming Soon

Are you struggling with whether or not your chapters are engaging, tight, and well-paced? Do you sense that your articles or essays lack umph? Or have you come up with a brilliant nonfiction book idea but can't seem to convey your enthusiasm in a written proposal?

If you're nodding at all, then you're likely in need of the constructive feedback and direction that our Xtreme Critique Weekend offers. By participating in five targeted critiquing sesssions and bouncing thoughts and ideas off of caring peers and professionals during meals and social gatherings, you'll leave the weekend equipped and ready to ramp your writing to a more publishable level.

Here are the details.

Your registration fee includes the following:

1. FIVE CRITIQUING SESSIONS: In these smaller break-out groups, you'll read your work aloud and receive feedback from published writers, as well as other group members. Suggestions are geared to helping writers improve the marketability and presentation of their work. Guidance includes such focused elements as word choice and sentence structure and expands to encompass overall content, reader reception, industry expectations, and saleability.

2. FIVE MEALS: You'll receive two delicious dinners, two full breakfasts, one home-cooked lunch, and some snacks. (Vegetarian selections are available, so let us know if that's your preference.) We'll all be dining together, so you'll have a chance to mingle with group leaders and ask questions along the way.

3. TWO EVENING SOCIALS: After the final critiquing session, some writers like to burrow in their rooms and read, write, or edit. Others like to socialize, share comments, and continue discussions that were sparked throughout the day. At our evening socials, you can nibble a few snacks, chat, and get to know each other better.

4. LODGING FOR TWO NIGHTS: After critiquing and socializing, you'll be ready to plop into bed. When registering, you may choose to room alone or share with a friend. (If you'd like to share a double but don't know other attendees, we can pair you with someone -- just let us know.)
