Call Out for Stories of Preschoolers
The Chicken Soup for the Soul publishers are now accepting submissions for Chicken Soup for the Mother's of Preschoolers Soul. Deadline is April 29, 2005. Payment is $200 for stories and $50 for poems. Julie and Judy have both had stories published with Chicken Soup and can say that publishing with this well-known series is a good opportunity.
Stories should be inspirational, true, 1000 words or less. They should be positive, universal and non-controversial, likely to make readers laugh, cry or sigh. The "point" or "message" should be evident without preaching. No essays, commentaries, tributes, philosophical or biographical pieces will be accepted. You may submit more than one story, whether original or a favorite from magazines, newspapers or other sources. For each story selected, a 50-word biography will be included about the author (great way to promote yourself!). Only finalists will be notified prior to publication.
Email submissions are strongly preferred. Send stories with you name, address, phone number and email address on the manuscript to Maria Nickless at preschoolmomsoul@comcast.net. Email submissions are strongly preferred but if you can't email, send a hard copy (and on disk if possible) c/o Chicken Soup for the Mother's of Preschoolers Soul, 2833 Monteray Avenue, Costa Mesa, CA 92626.
Chapters and Topics will include:
