Call for Stories

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Christmas Virtues celebrates the seasonal sights, sounds and ceremonies that lift us higher. Submission deadline in March 31, 2005. Contribute a true story, vignette or anecdote focusing on the refining qualities that increase our delight in the yuletide holiday. Virtues will include: kindness, joy, love, gratitude, faith, simplicity and wonder.

The publishers are looking for inspirational, true stories, 1000 words or less, that will make readers laugh, cry or sigh. Stories should be positive, universal, and non-controversial. The point or message should be evident without preaching. You may submit more than one story.

For each story selected inthe book, a 50-word biography will be included about the author and a permission fee of $200 will be paid. Email submissions strongly preferred. Go to www.chickensoup.com and click on "submit a story". Under book title select Christmas Virtues. If unable to email, send hard copy (and disk if possible) to Chicken Soup for the Soul, 25321 Heather Vale St., Saugus, CA 92350. Only finalists will be notified prior to publication.
