About Us
Cynthia Closkey
Where high-tech and creativity converge, you'll find Cindy. She started writing her blog before the rest of us had even heard word. Even more impressive, Cindy is the force behind Inkburns , the interactive literary journal ranked among the "25 Best Places to Get Published Online" by Writer's Digest . When it comes to all things cutting-edge, we at Fat Plum turn to Cindy, who invariably says, "We can do that, no problem."
Since 1997 Cindy has developed marketing strategies and designed websites for various clients, including writers who have become published authors. (Coincidence? We like to think not.) Cindy helps clients - individuals, small businesses, corporations and nonprofit organizations - develop creative and effective marketing and web strategies. (Warning: She knows viral marketing and she's not afraid to spread it.)
Cindy is an award-winning editor and writer. Her work as editor for the magazines NEXTSTEP In Focus and NXApp garnered Best of Category and Excellence awards, respectively, in the Northern California Technical Publications Competition. Her short story "Compatibility" won first place in fiction at the Skyline Writers Conference.
Cindy also dabbles in the performing arts. She is involved in local theater, both on stage and behind the scenes. She acts, teaches theater performance to children, and produces plays. (Ask her how she made her sister fly on stage.)
Cindy holds a Masters of Science in Management from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as an MS in Computer Science, also from MIT. As if you couldn't tell, this girl really knows her stuff.
